I have extensive experience treating depression, anxiety, PTSD and trauma related issues, panic attacks, bipolar disorder, social phobia, substance use disorders and OCD. I also have expertise in relationship issues as well as providing specialized support for polyamory and LGBTQI community members.
My approach to psychotherapy is eclectic and my major influences are psycho-dynamic psychotherapy, attachment theory, systems centered theory and emotionally focused therapy.
I received a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley where I studied Integrative Biology. I have worked as an Emergency Medical Technician in San Francisco, as an outdoor science instructor and a counselor for troubled youth at a wilderness therapy camp.
I completed medical training at the University of Kentucky where I graduated with highest distinction, was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and was awarded the Leonard Tow Award for Humanism in Medicine. My residency training was at UCSF where I served as a chief resident and received the Laughlin Award for excellence in therapeutic skills and dedication to the welfare of patients. I have been in clinical practice since 2013.
